About Us
Our Founder
Hello! My name is Caitlin Liau and I am the founder of Dance to You! I began dancing when I was three years old and am trained in a multitude of dance genres including ballet, contemporary, hip-hop and K-pop, jazz, musical theatre, and Korean traditional dance. As a First Soloist with NDT Company at Nunnbetter Dance Theatre, I have performed in various leading roles in the company's performances and have attended many esteemed summer intensive programs at American Ballet Theatre, Kaatsbaan, and Manhattan Youth Ballet. In addition, I have placed Top 24 in the Junior Women Classical Ballet Division as a soloist, and placed 3rd in the Small Ensemble Division as an ensemble member at Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) Philadelphia Regional Semi-Finals.
Our Story
When Caitlin was 14 years old, she was cast in her dream role of Clara in her dance company's annual production of The Nutcracker. However, earlier that year, her grandfather was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, and could not attend her performance. He had been to every one of her prior Nutcracker performances and she was deeply saddened that he would not be able to attend her biggest and most important performance yet. So, she decided to perform excerpts of her performance for her grandfather in his very own living room instead. He was so overcome with emotion and joy as he watched his granddaughter dance right in front of him! This led her to realize how difficult it can be for people in similar circumstances as her grandfather to go to the ballet and attend other types of dance performances. She also realized that there are many other people who find it more challenging to do so for various reasons as well, leading her to want to start
